TE HUAMANUKA

Writer/ Actor/ Creative Te Huamanuka Luiten-Apirana (Ngāti Hikairo) is an award-winning playwright and was the recipient of Creative New Zealand’s Emerging Artist Award in 2021, based in Auckland, New Zealand. Manuka is an advocate for Māori storytelling and constantly looks for ways to develop her skills and deepen her hononga to other creatives. You can also find her music on Spotify.

Manuka works as a freelance writer, actor, producer, storyliner and stage manager.

KŌPŪ

The kāhui whetū of multi-talented performers weave live music, performance, poetry, and poi to share a hilarious honest and no hold barred account of their experiences of wāhinetanga now; the day and night duality of being fiercely everything at once. Touring soon to Christchurch.

This solo reo-Māori whakaari celebrates tuakiritanga, māoritanga me te hononga ki te ūkaipō. Mia’s life is turned upside down when she reads in an old letter that her dad isn’t her real dad. Will she return home? Who is her dad? Can she fix the relationship with her Mum? Touring soon to Kerikeri.

LIPSYNC, KANIKANI, TWERK OFF!

Award-winning play Lip Sync, Kanikani, Twerk Off! follows a trio of sisters as they navigate the loss of their mum by ticking off a compulsory lipsync each night from a year-long list. Can the girls make it to the end of the list without the whānau falling apart? Listen below.


MUSIC

MANUKA is an emerging independent pop artist who writes from an open heart and matches her vulnerable lyrics with upbeat pop rhythms. Her music has reached people as far as the Netherlands, Czech Republic and USA.
